If you are a business traveler, this is a must read. There are a few guidelines which are quintessential for a typical business traveler.
Organize in accordance to what to pack, where to put in all your things and how to go about it in an efficient manner. Try restricting the quantity of luggage which you carry, do not carry oversized suitcases. Choose a suitable suitcase or briefcase for efficient and effective storage. Make sure it is sturdy, easy to carry and toss around, and can be conveniently stowed away in a compartment. It should be able to withstand rough handling and different weather conditions. Be sure the locks work well and cannot be easily opened with a picklock. Look for the best since you'll be using it throughout your trips and you don't want to be bogged down in a strange place with a busted suitcase or briefcase.
What to keep in mind while packing
Pack your clothes in such a manner that they do not get wrinkled. Separate your things by category, into smaller plastic bags. You can squeeze the air out of them by pressing them, in order to save space. It also helps in finding your belongings as you unpack. There are a lot of crevices in bags which can be used to pack smaller things like socks, underwear, and other non-destructible items. The bottom of your suitcase should be packed with the clothing that is not so important like undershirts, socks, nightwear, etc. Roll these things as securely as possible, especially when space-saving bags are not used. Create a flat surface by stuffing every corner of your suitcase. Pack the top of your bag by loosely folding formal clothes.
Packing accessories
Bare essential clothes and shoes should be kept. Depending on the length and itinerary set for your trip, keep a mix of shoes and clothes that can be mixed and matched together and create a different look while saving space. Additionally, carry a small steam iron just in case the clothes get a little crumpled. Pack your grooming essentials in a check in bag. Don't forget to carry all the necessary chargers to your gadgets. If it is just a handbag or carry-on luggage that you are carrying, ensure that it does not contain any prohibited items which may lead to a delay at the security check. Carry a basic first aid kit. If you need to keep your medications, make sure to pack in the prescription for them. Instead of carrying the entire bottle of medicine, pack the quantity into the medicine box depending on the duration of travel.
Organizing your documents
Organize all your travel documents and other important documents in your leather briefcase. Make sure that your briefcase has a lock to safeguard it. Depending on the nature of the trip a laptop briefcase can also accommodate the necessary documents and act as a carry-on bag than just being restricted to keeping your laptop. Make sure that if a cell phone is required for your trip, to activate the roaming facility or take a sim card for travelling purpose.By travelling light and understanding the proper use of a packing list, you can stay assured that all your belongings will be organized and systematic. This will help you focus on the more important aspects of your business trip.
